Cover FX ‘Perfect Highlighting Palette’ – Review, Swatches, and Look

A library of pretty highlighters in one place?  Cover FX, you’re the real MVP.

Remember the Cover FX ‘Perfect Light Highlighting Powders’ that I wrote about a little while ago (review HERE)?  Now they’ve expanded the shades, improved the formula, and placed them all in one handy palette.

A multi-use highlighting palette with six high impact highlighters designed to highlight, strobe, and illuminate the cheeks and eyes.

The Cover FX ‘Perfect Highlighting Palette’ ($39 USD/$45 CAD) contains six powder highlighters.  Each highlighter contains 3 g of product (for comparison, a full-sized BECCA pressed highlighter contains 7g of product), making each highlighter pan work out to $6.50 USD/$7.50 CAD each.  The palette comes in a reflective gold box. The palette itself comes in gold packaging that is so reflective that it can double as a mirror (I discovered that while goofing around when I was first introduced to the palette, this past summer).

Inside are six pans as well as a mirror.  The compact itself has a bit of weight to it, which is good because the mirror can hold itself up, meaning that you can place it on the table, adjust the mirror, and have it stay in place for you to do your makeup.

Your fave Custom Enhancer Drops (Review HERE) shades now come in powder form:

  • Blossom – Soft, Pearlescent Pink
  • Prism – Holographic, Multi-Dimensional (very reminiscent of ‘Halo’)
  • Rose Gold – Rose, Infused Gold
  • Golden Peach – Pearlescent Peachy Pink
  • Celestial – Glistening Pearl
  • Gilded – Brilliant Warm Bronze

It’s more than just a highlighting palette.  It’s an everything palette.  Because Cover FX’s products are famously eye-safe, there’s no limits with how you can use them.  For this review I used it for just about everything: highlighter, bronzer, blush, and eyeshadow.

The powders that I used as highlighters applied like a breeze with my brush.  While they can be used as shadows, they didn’t pack too much of a punch on the lid (although I did like ‘Rose Gold’ on the lower lash line).  But as face products (bronzer, blush, highlighter) these powders were really nice – nothing TOO in your face, but still enough pigmentation to be noticeable.  And let’s be honest, am I ever going to finish up a full-sized highlighter?  I can’t even hit pan.  Having several smaller pans is way more wallet friendly.

The Cover FX ‘Perfect Highlighting Palette’ is available at Ulta, Ulta.com, and CoverFX.com.

Right? I always worry when people do it with lipsticks and bronzers, but these are eye-safe!
