It’s true what they say – it’s what’s on the inside that counts. Not only does it apply to people, but it also applies to makeup. At the end of the day, it’s about how the product looks when applied and how it wears throughout the day. But with so many brands out there making quality makeup, it’s about more than the product – packaging is a big deal. And while I always told myself I’d never be part of that group that purchased something just because of the cute packaging, in the past few years I have done a complete 180. Sometimes cute packaging seals the deal! And with that, I’d like to share some lipsticks from my collection that I will not toss away, purely because of how pretty they are.
First up is any standard lipstick from Pat McGrath. We all know that Pat McGrath lipsticks are luxurious – from the price to the product inside, this lipstick screams “fancy”. But this packaging? The clean black tube with the yellow gold accent and lip – sleek, fierce and luxe.
Next up is the Guerlain Kiss Kiss Matte Lipstick packaging. The limited-edition 3-cube tube in matte gold looks like no other lipstick in my collection. And the engraved Guerlain autograph near the base is a nice touch.
Winning the award for cuteness is the Too Faced Gingerbread lipstick. This tube is covered in the smiling face of the one and only Gingerbread Man, and topped off with the Too Faced logo in gold.
Few designs are as stunning as Le Rouge, Rouge Reverie by Givenchy. Part of its 2018 Lunar New Year collection, this unique lipstick tube features a red base with white gold flowers on genuine printed leather, silver square studs and the Givenchy name engraved on the side of the tube. Absolutely stunning!
This wouldn’t be a “pretty packaging” story without including the Charlotte Tilbury’s Hot Lips 2 collection. This collection of lipsticks featured multiple designs including the ones featured here: a magical black and gold galaxy, a hypnotic black and gold swirl and a sexy red leopard print. This flair-filled packaging is a nice change from the standard ribbed gold tube that Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks typically have.
