Cover FX Perfect Light Highlighting Powder ‘Sunlight’, ‘Candlelight’, ‘Moonlight’ – Review and Swatches

I love the highlighting trend – I hope it never goes away.  My highlighter collection keeps growing, and with so many formulas, I want to try them all.  They come in cream form, they come in liquid form with a dropper, but my all-time fave is definitely powder form.  I love being able to wiggle my big dramatic fan brush into the product and dust the glam all over my face.  Powder form is always easiest to blend (for me) and it sits so comfortably on my skin.

Soon you’ll be seeing Cover FX’s powder highlighters.  That’s right – you can take three of the colours from the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops on the go, because they are in a travel-friendly compact.

Cover FX launches the Perfect Light Highlighting Powder, which delivers an illuminating sheen to the complexion for a radiant, camera-ready finish.  The product comes in a silver compact, with a button activated closure (super easy to open and close), a mirror, and 8 g of product.

They come in 3 beautiful shades:

  • Sunlight: a soft gold glow
  • Moonlight: a soft silvery glow
  • Candlelight: a shimmering golden bronze

The powder is formulated with super fine mica, so that the powder doesn’t settle into fine lines, which makes it user friendly for makeup lovers of all ages.  The mica is coated with amino acids that make the skin feel hydrated, comfortable, and balanced – the highlighter contains antioxidants vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin F (offers hydrating benefits), and green tea extract to help neutralize free radical damage.

I applied ‘Sunlight’ on the tops of my cheeks, ‘Candlelight’ on the outer 2/3 of my eyelid (Hellooooo double-duty beauty!  Highlighter, AND eyeshadow), and ‘Moonlight’ on the inner 1/3 of my eyelid, as well as on my browbone.

Seriously, the arm swatch photos don’t do the product justice.  The glow really pops when worn on the face.

I really like these highlighters.  I must admit that I did have a hard time differentiating ‘Sunlight’ and ‘Moonlight’, because they look very similar (one is more white and one if more yellow).  I absolutely LOVED how the product picked up on my brush.  I’m a huge critic when it comes to product not being easy to apply with a brush, but the product is so finely milled that I didn’t have to do any aggressive digging.  Because of how nicely they applied, I’m definitely going to have to put these right next to my #1, Becca’s ‘Champagne Pop’.  Watch out now!

Cover FX Perfect Light Highlighting Powders are $42 CAD, and can be found on the Cover FX website, as well as at Sephora.
