Charlotte Tilbury is back again with the latest launch from the Hot Lips collection, named after the people that inspire her.
Today I’m sharing 3 of the 11 new lipsticks.
The Hot Lips 2 lipsticks differ from the first launch of the Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips lipsticks because they have super luxe lipstick tube designs that are refillable, so you have the option of purchasing just the lipstick shade and swapping it out with the shade that came with the tube. There are 5 designs: Timeless Leopard, Magic Panther, Modern Red Leopard, Magic Infinity Starburst and Power of the Universe. These lipsticks are definitely too pretty to hide in a makeup drawer.
The 3 shades I tried are JK Magic which comes in the Power of the Universe case, Dancefloor Princess which comes in the Modern Red Leopard case and Viva La Vergara which comes in the Magic Infinity Starburst case. The products come in a box that corresponds with the case design, complete with a sleeve that slides off to reveal the lipstick.
The lipstick bullets have a square cut tip (my all-time favourite type of lipstick cut because it makes it easy to carve our a clean lip shape) and have the iconic Charlotte Tilbury lip print embossed just below.
JK Magic, named after author JK Rowling, is a warm peachy neutral shade with a creamy satin finish. It applied and wore absolutely beautifully.
Dancefloor Princess, named after Kylie Minogue, is a slightly-pale carnation pink with a creamy satin finish. This lipstick felt a little bit more “melty” than the other two shades.
Viva La Vergara, named after Sophia Vergara, is a soft wine matte shade. At first, I thought this shade would be super bold, but the pigmentation is nicely balanced so it isn’t too intense.
There’s no denying how good these lipsticks are. Since it’s a luxury brand it comes at a higher price point, but the option to purchase a refill shade helps balance that out. The designs of the cases are gorgeous and make for an ultra-luxe experience. There’s something about a lipstick tube with some weight to it that really helps contribute to the “ooh la la” feeling. As far as the formulas, I think the Hot Lips 2 lipsticks that I tried are the best lipstick formula I’ve tried from the brand. None of the shades clung to any dry patches or lip lines, which is pretty rare for me especially with the neutral shades. They feel like a lip balm but wear like a pigmented lipstick. You can feel free to rub your lips together as if you were wearing Chapstick and you don’t have to worry about the lipstick moving around and getting patchy. My favourite from these 3 is JK Magic because of how easily it applied and how wearable it is. Viva La Vergara comes in as a close second just because it’s a bit bold to be my everyday shade (although not nearly as bold as I thought it would be) and Dancefloor Princess places third because the formula felt a bit softer and more slippery than the other two. The only downside I experienced with these lipsticks is that since the lipstick portions are refillable, the lipsticks wiggled a bit when applying.
I really hope Charlotte Tilbury continues to make more lipsticks like these – beautiful, comfortable and super-luxe. I’ve already seen pictures of the holiday collection pop up on Instagram, so I can’t wait to get more details.
I NEED J.K. Magic – it’s gorgeous and I love J.K.

What the heck is a “sample swatch”? And why would you ask a blogger for a sample? How would she do this?? Cut off a piece of her lipstick and put it in a tiny container and send it to you?
