May 2019 Faves – Quick and Easy Makeup

I haven’t done a favourites post since March, but my May faves (a.k.a. my most-used products of the month) are pretty different from my standard favourites posts.

I normally have a most-used palette or a most-used lipstick, but this month was about having a short amount of time to get ready (that snooze button has a power over me I’ll never understand) and downplaying the foundation.

Starting off the May Faves is the Korres Pomegranate Mattifying Primer. It has the type of formula I look for in a concealer where it feels like a light face cream and not a silicone-y primer. And as a fun bonus, it smells like Kool-Aid!

When I reviewed the MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Light Capturing Self-Setting Concealer in April I noted how it might be better suited for those light makeup days where you just need to dab a small amount on your under eyes. Well, having done just that for the past month I can tell you that’s exactly how this concealer works best for me. And with it not needing a setting powder, I can save time without doing the whole “baking” thing.

To make sure I keep the oils in my T-zone under control, I’ve been using the Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Setting Powder. I grab a big fluffy brush and do a 5-second sweep. Done and done.

I knew this face duo was something I wanted to own, but I didn’t realize how perfectly suited it was for me until I got it. The Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow in Light To Medium has the perfect bronzer for my fair complexion. It’s cool, a little bit muted as far as the pigmentation and easily blendable, which means I can be kind of messy with my application (and I certainly am when I wake up after a night of 5-6 hours of sleep) and still have a natural-looking warmth. And the highlight side, although a bit subtle looking in the pan, actually has some nice punch!

Last is the NARS Climax Mascara. It’s another one of those products that lend itself nicely to light makeup days because it’s more lengthening than it is volumizing. I can pop on one coat, give some nice definition to my lashes, and be on my merry way.

Even though these products are May faves, I fully intend to use them throughout the summer. But cheers to finding some new beauty loves in June!
