These highlighters came out a little while ago in the States (and were ALWAYS sold out), but now they’re available in Canada.

“Infused with shimmering pearl pigments, this velvety-smooth highlighting powder enhances skin with a naturally luminous glow. Available in 2 shades.”

The two shades are ‘Precious Petals’ and ‘Crown of my Canopy’.  ‘Precious Petals’ is the lighter shade of the two.  I’d describe it as a champagne peach shade.  ‘Crown of my Canopy’ is a bronzy rosé shade.

I really wanted to like these highlighters (what’s not to like about sparkles, right?), but they just didn’t suit my skintone.  I thought the lighter shade would, but I was surprised when I saw how dark it appeared on my face.  It cast a dark shadow on the area where I applied it, and looked like I had bruises on the high points of my cheeks – no bueno.  ‘Crown of My Canopy’ is definitely too pink to be worn on the high points of my cheeks, but I think it might work as a blush topper, for me.

I also thought that since these are the only two shades in the collection, the shades should be totally different, however, they are quite similar, and were fairly difficult to differentiate on camera.

I think that these highlighters might work for you if you have a warmer skintone than myself (I’m just about as pale as they come).

The Wet n Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powders are $6.99 CAD, and can be found at select food, drug, and mass retailers, as well as online.
