I’ve been a big fan of the “warm and rusty” shades of makeup, for the past little while. So, when I saw the Dior eyeshadow palette in ‘Trafalgar’, I immediately fell in love with the rich red shadow that is featured in the centre of the palette.
Here’s a little look I put together with some “warm and rusty” Dior picks.
The Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette ($73.00 CAD) in ‘Trafalgar’ (876) features five eyeshadows: a frosty white, a shimmery baby pink, a bronze-y gold, a marooned brown, and a rich red.
I began by gently applying the marooned brown to my crease. Then I applied the white to the inner corner of my eyelid, and to my browbone. I applied the gold all over my lid, with my fingertip, then applied the red to the outer corner of my lid, and blended it into the crease. For the lower lash
line, I applied the marooned brown to the outer half, and the white to the inner half.
While it was a bit tough to pick up some of the lighter colours on my brush, and apply them to my eyelid, the darker colours (the marooned brown and the red) were easy to work with. The red eyeshadow was the star of the show! I really liked the colour combination of this palette.
Up next is the Dior Addict Fluid Stick ($43.00) in ‘Trompe L’Oeil’ (893).
The applicator is a curved almond shape, to hug the lips.
‘Trompe L’Oeil’ is a beautiful cherry mauve, with a bit of shine.
It isn’t too glossy or sticky, and it’s much thinner than your average gloss, which made it glide on more easily than glosses that I’ve used in the past. The colour was a bit patchy, but I think that it would fare well overtop of a lipstick, because the thin formula would not make the lipstick underneath pull. I’m a big fan of the Dior Addict Fluid Sticks because of how comfortable they are – they feel soooo refreshing and moisturizing when you apply them, and they set to a comfortable texture. I haven’t met a Fluid Stick I didn’t like!
