Stila Stay All Day MATTE’ificent Lipstick in ‘Brûlée’, and ‘Bisou’ – Review, Swatches, and Look

Back in September I got to check out a preview for a bunch of brands that fall under the ‘ACI’ umbrella.  One of those brands was a brand that carries my holy-grail liquid eyeliner – Stila!

One of the things that Stila was launching was the Stila Stay All Day MATTE’ificent Lipsticks, which are part of the Glam Rock Fall 2016 Collection.  Today I have two of the twelve shades for you to take a look at.

Stila masters the matte with this must-have lipstick. The perfect balance of concentrated matte pigments and oils, this lasting lip colour kisses with a smooth, weightless, creamy matte finish that’s never heavy or dry. It’s all about full-on, cushion-comfort coverage in a sleek stick form, with French-inspired shades for haute appeal.

  • Vivid, rich, one-swipe colour
  • Long-lasting, super comfortable wear
  • Non-drying, lightweight texture
  • Infused with nourishing Argon Oil, Castor Oil and Vitamin E

First up is ‘Brûlée’, a dark caramel nude with purple tones.  It’s a gorgeous colour, but any time I rubbed my lips together to spread the colour around or to re-moisturize my lips, a strange white film would appear.  It was similar to when you see water poured on waterproof material – I could see little droplets of moisture, but there was also this milky coating that took over any place that my lips had met.

Next up is ‘Bisou’ (cute name – French for “kiss”) is a classic blue-based red.  This one glided on very smooth and creamy.  I wouldn’t call this one totally matte, since it had a bit of shine to it.

These lipsticks definitely delivered on the “one swipe colour” promise.  Great pigmentation!  The only issue I had with them (aside from that weird white stuff that would appear with ‘Brûlée’ any time I rubbed my lips together) was the fact that they weren’t transfer-proof.  I did the test where you kiss your hand, and had a full-on detailed lip print on the back of my hand.

But you can’t argue with pretty colour selection, because dang……that nude colour is EVERYTHING!

You can find the Stila Stay All Day MATTE’ificent Lipsticks for $29.00 CAD, at Sephora, Shoppers Drug Mart, and Murale.
