Summer Friendly Face Products

Right now, I think that we’re in the ‘honeymoon phase’ of summer.  You know – that time where it’s comfortable and warm, but with a nice breeze.  Then BAM.  The honeymoon is over, and it’s August, and a million degrees, and you feel like your face is melting off.  So today I’m sharing some of my favourite products to wear in the summer, which help keep my face in one piece.

Maybe they’re long-lasting, maybe they have skin benefits, but put them together and they make for a summer-proof look.

For my summer look, I try not to wear as much makeup as I do during the rest of the year.

Unfortunately, I have to try to stay away from rocking the cat eye, because the corners of my eyes tend to get oily in the summer, which means that my cat eye melts away.  I try to aim for a simple bronzed look, with just a little bit of sparkle.

Let’s get into my summer MVP’s.

Product: Maybelline Fit Me! Shine-free Foundation Stick
Why it’s great for summer:  It has a very comfortable and lightweight formula, and helps combat any extra shine that I might produce in the summer.

Product: Wet N Wild Eyeshadow Trio in ‘Walking On Eggshells’
Why it’s great for summer:  The pre-selected colour combinations make it easy to create a simple eye look.  It’s nicely pigmented, but not too loud.

Product:  Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara
Why it’s great for summer:  It has a bit of a dryer formula, so it won’t melt away or transfer, when in the heat.

Product: TheBalm Cindy-Lou Manizer
Why it’s great for summer:  Very buildable – can go from a light sheen to a noticeable blush.  Half blush, half highlighter – all around beautiful.

Teeez Cosmetics Desert Lush Sheer Lipstick in 'Crisp Nude'

Product:  Teeez Cosmetics Desert Lush Sheer Lipstick in ‘Crisp Nude’
Why it’s great for summer:  Gives a beautiful golden nude colour to the lips, with a slightly glossy feel.  Plus, it’s SPF 10!

Those are some of my fave summer products – let me know if there’s anything I should be adding to my summer repertoire!
