Reviews-Day Tuesday ft. essence the Gel Nail Polish

We all know that I love a good bargain, so ever since essence cosmetics came to Canada, I’ve been smiling ear to ear.  A little while ago I shared some pictures from inside the #essencepaintnite, and today I’ve got the details and some nail art with essence’s new line of gel nail polishes.

Click through and read all about essence the gel nail polish*.

The European brand essence cosmetics has now enhanced their nail polish line, by creating a gel line that includes colours, base coats, and top coats that allow you to get that long-lasting manicure, without the lamp, and for a fraction of the price that you would pay at a salon.

The next generation of essence nail polishes is here! The new, innovative nail polish formula provides an incredibly long-lasting manicure and an amazing gel finish at an affordable price. New color crush technology ensures intensive color combined with perfect coverage. Simply apply our gel nail polish base coat, a color gel coat, and then finish with the gel nail top coat to protect, seal and provide superior shine – without baking under a lamp! Available in 16 new and glossy colors, plus our base and top coats.

The innovative base coat and top coat formula improves the durability of the new “gel nail polish” by 60 percent! Nails are given an extreme, long-lasting gel-shine finish without the need for an LED or UV lamp. The finished result is easy to remove using conventional nail polish remover.

Review:

I’m very pleased with the essence gel nail polishes.  When using the base coat, gel polish, and top coat together, my manicure lasted for days, with minimal tip wear (4 days, then I took it off because I get bored with my nails quite easily).  I’m very used to my nails chipping away quickly because I work with my hands at my job, and I’m fidgety person in general – I’m always tapping my nails on my desk, or trying to peel stickers off of things with my nails – so I expect my nail polish to wear down within the day.  However, even with all those things working against me, the nail polish stood up!  I think the combination of the 3 essence polishes will work its way into my every day nail routine.

Here’s a few nail art looks I made with the products:

Products used:  essence the gel nail polish top coat, base coat, “Don’t Be Shy!”, and “Lucky”.  Used the saran wrap technique – tutorial HERE
Products used:  essence the gel nail polish “Play with my Mint”, “Black is Back”, and “Indian Summer”.

That all she wrote!  You can find these products at your local drug store that carries essence products.  Until next time, toodles! – Shawna
