NOTD ft. Lush Lacquer

Today’s Nail of the Day is by the indie brand formerly known as Lush Lacquer, now known as Polish Me Silly.

Click through to see what I’ve been sporting.

WHA-BAM!

I’m wearing Sinful Colors “Snow Me White” as a base, and Lush Lacquer’s “Clowning Around” as a topper (Lush Lacquer is now known as “Polish Me Silly”).  Unfortunately my quick-dry topcoat caused some shrinkage.  *Whomp whomp*, lesson learned – no more quick dry topcoat for Shawna (suggestions that don’t cause shrinkage are welcome, though).  But nothing can take away from the fact that this glitter topper is AWESOME.  I absolutely love the bright neon colours – it definitely brightens up my day.

That’s all for today.  Until next time. – Shawna

I love this neon glitter polish! It makes me smile every time I see it, especially on a base of pristine white.

I do wish the mom/daughter team had fought harder for their name (but I can understand going up against a big company like Lush is costly) or chosen another shorter name (and one not almost exactly like the blog, Lacquer Me Silly – which blogger quit blogging in September…). Anyway, they do make some pretty cool polishes!

Thanks LaraLeaf! I always want to experiment and try it on another base, but I end up going back to white. Why mess with a good thing, right?

I don't know too much about the lawsuit for the name, but I can understand why the decision to change their name was made. It can be tricky when an indie brand is going up against a huge and well-established brand like Lush, who probably has a dozen lawyers ready to go at a moment's notice.

Thank you for your comment 😀
