Charlotte Tilbury “Mesmerising Maroon” – Review, Swatches, Look

This is palette 3 of 4 from Charlotte Tilbury’s “Eye Colour Magic” collection, but it’s the one I’ve been most excited for. One because it’s made for green eyes like mine and two because…’s purple!

I love, love, love purple lipsticks, purple blushes and purple shadows, so I was pumped to sport this quad.

The Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette in Mesmerising Maroon is designed for green and hazel eyes and includes one matte shadow, two metallic shadows and one shimmer shadow.

I love that this palette contains a matte shadow because having one to use as a transition shade makes for a cleaner look. One thing I noticed was that the matte shade can get a bit muddy, so apply it lightly and build it up rather than packing it on and blending it all out. Similar to other CT shadows, the Pop shade has a slightly invisible base and has more of a focus on the shimmer, so because of that it didn’t apply well with a brush and worked better with my fingertip (and as expected with shimmer shadows, it had some fallout). And just like the other quads in this collection, the top two metallic shades on the top were nicely pigmented and packed some punch.

This quad actually reminds me of the purple, Confident Eyes, section of the Charlotte Tilbury Holiday 2018 Stars In Your Eyes palette, so if you missed out on that palette and have been longing for the maroon colour story from it, this quad might do the trick.

In conclusion, this isn’t going to replace Stars In Your Eyes as my absolute favourite Charlotte Tilbury palette, but I’m glad I have it in mycollection. I can definitely see myself creating more looks using this quad, just with a little bit of patience during the application process.
