Over the holidays I was introduced to Catrice products when I received their setting spray.
For the past few weeks I have been playing with Catrice makeup, so today I’m sharing one of the standout products.
The Catrice X Eman Bronzed AF Eyeshadow Palette in collaboration with Egyptian-Canadian makeup artist and influencer, Eman, comes in a beige and white cardboard compact with a magnetic closure, decorated with floral art – I love that it doesn’t come in plastic packaging because I’ve been trying to make a conscious effort to buy less makeup that doesn’t use eco-friendly packaging. Inside you’ll find a mirror and 9 eyeshadow pans, containing a combined 12.g of product.
The palette contains a range of deep bronzy shades – 5 mattes and 4 metallics.
This palette was really interesting because it didn’t swatch well on my arm – the swatches were streaky and sometimes had chunks of powder. But it was *completely* different story when I applied the shadows onto my eyelid with brushes. They were smooth and buttery! With shimmers or metallics, I usually don’t pick up much product with a brush that actually appears on my eyelid and then have to go back with my fingertip, but the metallics in this palette picked up and appeared on my lids quite easily. And blending was a breeze.
It’s funny because at first, I was so-so on how I thought the shadows looked on me, but throughout the day I would catch glimpses of myself in the mirror and think to myself “wow, look at that colour!”. Even today I got two compliments at work with people asking me what I was wearing. It took me a little while to realize it, but I have really grown to like this palette. It’s definitely one of the better eyeshadow formulas I’ve used from a drugstore brand. I think this would be an especially great palette for people with deeper skin tones who are looking for a pigmented bronze-toned palette.

Wearing shades: “Sunset” in the crease, “Hollywood Blvd” on the lid, “Sweetzer” in the outer v, “Runyon” on the lower lash line and “Fairfax” on the browbone.
I’ve also been playing with the blush palette and highlighter palette form the Catrice X Eman collection and am liking it so far. So cheers to more Catrice in 2020!
