Revlon Colorstay Foundation – Review, Swatches, Before & After + #ColorStayAllDay Event, Hosted by Gigi Gorgeous

This summer Revlon threw a bash highlighting some of their favourite products.

The event featured all kinds of products; eyeshadow, nail polish, lipsticks, and the product that I’m always on the hunt for…..foundations!

The evening was hosted by Gigi Gorgeous, who was lovely.  She was welcoming, invited everyone to come chat with her/take pictures, and brought her family (and encouraged use to harass them for pictures!).

We got to chat the evening away, as well as get colour matched.  So why not give their ColorStay Foundation a thorough testing?

The foundation comes in a pump applicator, in a clear bottle.  This particular foundation has SPF 15, is made for people with combination/oily skin (moi), and claims to give 24 hours of wear.

I was able to achieve medium coverage, when applied with a damp Beauty Blender.

While I liked the coverage and the immediate result, that’s where the positives ended.  There was no staying power with this foundation.  It claims to last 24 hours, but I couldn’t even get it to last 12 hours.  Every time I wore the foundation, after about 10 hours the product would be almost completely worn off from my t-zone.  I would run my finger across my forehead to see if there was any product left, and my finger would come off almost totally bare.

I also found that after about 8 hours of wear the product had noticeably moved around my faced, and caked up on my smile lines and around my nose, which is an issue that I don’t usually face with other foundations.

I wish this foundation held up better, so it would look as good throughout the day as it did when I first applied it.  Although it claims to be for combination/oily skin, I would be curious to see how it holds up on someone with dry skin.

    Hey Shawna

I love your blog, would you be able to do an updated review on a Normal Dry version of this foundation given you mentioned you’d be interested in that? We sell this stuff by the truckload in NZ through our website http://www.kissandmakeup.co.nz so we’d love to know if you’d do one.
We’ll gladly supply the foundation, setting spray and foundation brush?
