As part of Dior’s Spring 2017 ‘Colour Gradation’ Collection, Dior is releasing a brand new Lip Glow, as well as a Lip Scrub.
Dior’s Backstage Pros know that healthy, moisturized lips are the key to optimal colour impact, so I’m happy to see some new lip care products.
The Dior Lip Glow Sugar Scrub #001 ($41 CAD) is part balm, part scrub. Best of both worlds, right?
The top layer has a bumpy texture, but it took until my second time using the it to wear that part down, and get to the actual sugar scrub. It has very fine sugar crystals, for a more gentle exfoliation, when compared to other lip scrubs on the market, like the MAC Lip Scrubtious (Review HERE). The sugar grains are supposed to melt away, so you are left with just the balm on your lips, although I found that the sugars didn’t melt away for me (Probably because I applied the product to dry lips – I think that if you apply the product to damp lips, the sugar will melt away). While it does leave a slight pink tint behind, I did not do a lip swatch, as it appeared clear on my lips.
The Dior Lip Glow Colour Reviver Balm in #006 ‘Berry’ ($41 CAD) is the next sister in the Dior Lip Glow Family (Review of #005 ‘Lilac’, from the Fall 2016 Collection HERE).
Like its predecessors, the Lip Glow gives a natural wash of colour to your lips. Very clean and fresh-looking. Compared to ‘Lilac’, the ‘Berry’ shade is a quietly bright pink – like you just bit into a juicy, ripe berry.
It applies smooth, but pulls the lips just a bit during application, due to the thicker formula. It has a minty scent, and feels comfortable.
I like that these two lip products work best as a team – I use the Sugar Scrub, then follow it up with the Lip Glow, for a fresh and natural look (which is how I wore the products in the photo above).
You can find the Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub #001 and Lip Glow #006 ‘Berry’ at Dior counters.
