Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Intensive Moisture Quenching Bi-Phase Serum and Silky Cream – Review

What?  She actually tested out skincare?!?!  That’s right, friends, your eyes do not deceive you.  I tested out skincare because…..I wasn’t allergic to it! *does happy dance*

I was more than happy to bring in some fresh skincare into my life, so the Clarins Hydra-Essentiel line came in at the right time.

The Hydra-Essentiel line promotes intensely hydrated, moisture-quenched, radiant skin.  Sounds good to me!  Because our skin is exposed to as many as 17 thermal shocks a day (heat, cold, pollution, stress, etc), our skin can end up very dehydrated.  The Hydra-Essential line features the organic leaf of life, a plant from Madagascar, whose extracts power the skin’s natural hydration at all skin levels, by boosting the production of water-retaining “sponge molecules”, such as hyaluronic acid.

The Hydra-Essential Intensive Moisture Quenching Bi-Phase Serum ($56 CAD) is the very first thing I apply to my face in the morning.  It has the same consistency as water, so you need to move quickly, so it doesn’t absorb into your hands.  I’ll put two pumps of the blue liquid onto my palm, quickly rub them together, and press the product into my face.  It feels absolutely amazing.  The term “quench” is the perfect way to describe the feeling it gives your face.  You instantly feel refreshed and moisturized (And it helps wake me up, which is perfect for those really early mornings).  It dries within 45 seconds, and then I’m onto the next step.

The Hydra-Essentiel Silky Cream ($46 CAD) is a dense cream that I apply after the Bi-Phase Serum has dried.  I dot it all over my face, and massage into my skin.  I do find that I need to use a bit more product, compared to a regular face lotion, because of how dense the cream is.  It locks in the moisture, and helps prepare my face for whatever makeup look I’m doing that day.

All in all, I’m so glad that I brought the Clarins Hydra-Essentiel products into my skincare routine.  If you had to choose just one of the products, I would definitely recommend the Bi-Phase Serum (If a lifetime supply magically showed up on my doorsteps, I’d be set!).

Since my first time trying Clarins skincare was such a hit, I’d love to know what Clarins skincare you like.  Let me know in the comments below.
