Valentine’s Day Nail Art Tutorial with Sally Hansen

The day is approaching!  Whether you are celebrating Valentine’s day, kicking it breakfast style for Galentines Day, observing Anna Howard Shaw Day (any 30 Rock fans out there?), or waiting for the REAL holiday (February 15th a.k.a. 50% off chocolate day), why not rock some fab nail art?

This Valentine’s Day, Sally Hansen invites you to treat yo’self to a pink hued mani.  Pinky promise that these fresh nails are just what you need for the love-iest day of the year.

Sally Hansen’s Global Color Ambassador, Madeline Poole and her BFF, Sam Ushiro had a Galentine’s Day date at Magnolia Bakery, where they sported some pretty pink nail art.

Step 1: Apply a solid base using Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in ‘Pinky Promise’ (I applied 3 coats).

Step 2: Using a striping brush, paint the arches of a heart on each nail using Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in ‘Pink Up’.

Step 3Fill in the shape at the tip of the nail with Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in ‘Pink Up’.

Step 4Repeat steps 2 and 3 using Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in ‘Pink Tank’ a few millimeters below the first heart shape.

Top off with Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat, and you’re good to go!

Note:  If you’re comfortable with nail art, you can skip step 2, and apply the heart shape by lying the brush flat on your nail on an angle, and dragging it off (The Sally Hansen Miracle Gel nail polish has my all-time favourite brush shape – a wide paddle brush with a rounded edge), then repeating it on the opposite angle.
