Today I’m trying out another piece from the MAC Vibe Tribe collection (Check out my review of the ‘Hot Chocolate’ lipstick HERE).
This is the MAC Vibe Tribe Gleamtones Powder in ‘Dunes At Dusk’.
‘Dunes At Dusk’ is described as a bronzing and highlighting powder with a colour block of four shades in one pan (coral orange, lavender pink, taupe brown, and bone white). You can use the colours individually, or swirl them together.
I used the Gleamtones Powder as a highlighter. At first I swirled the four colours together and applied to my browbone, and the tops of my cheeks. I did find that mixing the four colours created a more bronze-y orange colour (because the white and pink sections are smaller than the brown and orange sections), which wasn’t the best look on my browbone – as you can see in the picture below, it stood out too much on my browbone. For the tops of my cheeks, after applying a swirl of the four colours, I went back into the white section, and blended that with my fingers on top of where I originally put the swirl of four.
In front of my mirror I had a hard time seeing ‘Dunes at Dusk’ show up on my face as a highlighter. But under some good lighting…..DANG! The photos don’t lie. This powder would be a good option for people who don’t like too bold of a highlight, and also enjoy having colour options – you can use the colours individually, blend two or three colours together, or swirl together all four.
You can find the MAC Vibe Tribe Gleamtones Powder ‘Dunes At Dusk’ for $38.50 CAD/$33.00 USD at MAC counters.
