Face of the Day: Playing with Colour

This week, while continuing my effort to embrace colour, I found my eye inspiration and went to town.

More details after the jump!

My ultimate ‘play with colour’ role model is Chelle from Makeup Your Mind.  Her eye looks are absolutely incredible – they never cease to amaze me.  So I went through her instagram, and picked out a look to try out.  Here’s what I went with:

So I picked out some products from my battle station that I thought could emulate her look, and started experimenting.  Here’s how my look turned out:

Okay, so it’s not dead-on, but this whole ‘multi-eyeshadow look’ thing is a learning process – clearly, I need a bit more practice.  I think if I gave myself more time, tried a sharper cat liner, and worked on creating more of a shape with the entire look, I’d be a bit closer to the original creation.

Products used:

Bobbi Brown Luminous Moisturizing Treatment Foundation in ‘Alabaster’
NYX Dark Circle Concealer in ‘Fair’
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in ‘Fair’
E.L.F. Essential Instant Brow Lift Pencil in ‘Neutral Brown’ & ‘Taupe’
Maybelline The Brights palette
Inglot Gel Liner #77
Covergirl Lash Blast Volume Waterproof Mascara in ‘Very Black’
Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara
Annabelle Blush On in ‘Spring Petal’
Maybelline Rebel Bloom lipstick in ‘Blushing Bud’

Products not pictured:

Jordana 12 Hour Made To Last Eyeshadow Pencil in ‘Eternal White’ (all over lid, as eyeshadow base)
NYX Control Freak Brow Gel

That’s all for today!  My eyeshadow adventure continues.  Until next time, toodles! – Shawna
