May 2015 Faves

The beginning of a new month means that I get to share my favourite products from the last month.

Here’s what I’ve been loving in the month of May.

Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer in “Apocalyptic” – I’ve been hearing people rave about this line, so I picked one up, and I’m really happy that I did.  The formula is one of the best lip gloss formulas Ive tried – thin, not sticky, and very long-lasting.  And the colour pay off is out of this world – full coverage in one layer.  I need to get more of these.

NYX Tame and Frame Tinted Brow Pomade in “Blonde” – This is one of NYX’s products in a line of new brow products that emulate other brands.  The pomeade is a cheaper alternative to the Anastasia Dip Brow.  I haven’t tried the Anastasia dip brow, so I cannot compare the two, but I do really like the NYX version.  The formula is a bit thick, which I like, because that means it isn’t runny, and it’s buildable which is always a plus for me, since I always tend to make a mistake on the first application – I like starting with a light hand, cleaning up any mistakes, and building from there.

E.L.F. Studio Baked Blush in “Pinktastic” – One of the first blushes I ever bought, “Pinktastic” is great for pre-summer.  It’s a beautiful mix of pink, gold, and a bit of peach – fab for a natural glow-y look.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in “Opal” – This was a deluxe sample from Sephora’s Bronze Bares All kit, and it’s the main reason that I bought the set.  I always hear Jaclyn Hill mentioning it in her videos, so I had my eye on it for a while.  I apply this highlighter above my cheeks, and under my browbone, and it gives a champagne coloured highlight (and it even works for a pale gal like me!).

Benefit Posietint – I got this during a CBB swap, and tried it on a few weeks ago, and ended up reaching for it a lot, this past month.  A lovely peach color, the tints are just that, a tint of colour, and not a full blush, which I can appreciate, as I need makeup that wears very light during these hotter months.

Yazbukey for Shu Uemura Porefinist Anti-Shine Cleansing Oil – There have been one or two blazing hot days this past month, they kind of come out of nowhere, and those are the days when I feel the skin on my face and think “Oy!  This needs to be taken care of”.  That’s where this cleansing oil comes in.  On those days when my skin is needing some extra love, I reach for this cleansing oil.  It leaves my skin feeling beautiful and soft, and smelling like a garden.  And come on, look at that fun packaging!

Zoya in “Leslie” – Lately, I’ve had a thing for nail polishes that have a base of one colour, and a hint of another.  “Leslie” is a lilac nail polish, with a hint of blue shimmer, that appears when it catches the light.  Right up my alley!

That’s all for this month, are any of these your faves?  Let me know in the comments below.  Until next time. – Shawna
