Calvin Klein #REVEALmore Twitter Follower VIP Dinner

Hey y’all!  Today I’ve got a fun one for you…

I’ve got your look inside the Calvin Klein men’s fragrance launch, hosted by beauty editor and writer, Dave Lackie, for some of his twitter followers.

The event was this past Tuesday (sorry for the lack of Instagram photos that night – my internet was being finicky), in downtown Toronto, and I was lucky enough to be selected to attend.  This VIP Dinner gave some of Dave’s followers the experience that professionals in the beauty industry get to experience, such as people from Vogue and Chanel.  In November I had attended another event hosted by Dave (the Anna Sui luncheon) and had a fantastic time, so I was very excited for this one.

I met up with my friend Jen (who I met at the last Dave Lackie event), and we made our way over.  We walked in and were met with a warm welcome from Dave, the director of Coty Marketing & philosophy, and some members of team Calvin Klein.  The evening was filled with great conversation, great food, and great company.

The appetizers, signature cocktail, and dinner were delicious.  The signature cocktail’s ingredients were inspired by the scent notes from the fragrance.

Jen and I enjoying the signature cocktail.

While enjoying the appetizers, we got to take a look at the new fragrances and try them out.

Calvin Klein’s spokesmodels – Charlie Hunnam, and Doutzen Kroes.

These new fragrances use raw salt signature to capture the scent of skin.  The top notes of the first REVEAL fragrance I tried out (the pink packaging) are:  raw salt signature, pink pepper, black pepper, and white pepper.  The heart notes are:  orris, ambergris, and solar accord.  The dry notes are:  sandalwood, cashmeran, and vetiver.  The top notes of the second fragrance (the blue packaging) are:  crystallized ginger, lentisque essence, and pear brandy.  The middle notes are:  raw salt signature, agave nectar, and kiwano.  The base notes are:  Haiti vetiver, vintage vanilla bean, and golden amber.

As we were sitting down for dinner, Dave did an interview with Coty Senior Director of Marketing for fragrances and philosophy, Diane Sonnenberg.  We got to hear stories about their experiences working in the beauty industry, like the time Dianne worked with Tom Ford, and the time Dave visited Oscar De La Renta’s garden in Connecticut.

After the discussion, we were served a beautiful dinner.

During the dinner, we got a sneak peek of the the ad for the Reveal fragrance, so I quickly whipped out my camera and hit record.

There was another surprise during the dinner – Dave did one of his famous draws for one of two gorgeous Calvin Klein bracelets.  And guess who won!

Ah!  I won!  Check “Win a Dave Lackie draw” off my list.

I took a few more photos and then it was time to call it a night.

A fellow CBB member, Steph from The Fasntasia was there 🙂

Jen and I couldn’t leave without taking a selfie with the man who made it all possible, Dave Lackie.

The night kept getting better – before we left, we were given a goodie bag, with the two fragrances to take home and try out.

It was such a fun and glamorous night – Dave Lackie never lets me down.  I got to see some familiar faces, and make some new friends who share my love for all things fashion and beauty.  Thank you so much to Dave for including me in the festivities, as well as Diane Sonnenberg, the members of team CK, the chefs, and everyone who made the evening memorable.  Hope to see you all in the future.  And if you want a chance to win some of Dave’s awesome giveaways (why wouldn’t you?), follow him on twitter @DaveLackie.

Until next time – Shawna

So jealous! Looks like an amazing event. I actually looked at Dave's pictures as soon as he had posted them to his Twitter. I also checked out your Anna Sui event photos. Lucky lady getting to go to two of his events! Maybe one day I will be lucky enough to go to one as well (and then we will meet!)

Anyway, lovely blog. Great posts. I enjoyed reading through.

Thanks for leaving a comment, Belinda. If you want to win some of Dave's giveaways, my best advice is to follow him on twitter, and enter away! You can't win if you don't enter, right?
