Coming Soon – Summer 2014

With summer JUST around the corner (less than 24 hours away!), I have a bunch of products – beauty, fashion, and more, that I’m just itching to bust out.  Care to see what made the cut?

Here are some things that I can’t wait to put into use!

L’Oreal Color Riche Lipstick – Silky Java

I got this at Big Lots a little while ago – I think they were clearing them out because of a packaging change.  This color is great for summer because it is very buildable – one swipe is glossy and a bit sheer, but 2 or 3 swipes gives you a nice and shiny coverage.  And bonus – not sticky!

e.l.f. Studio Baked Plush – Pinktastic

At first glance of the swatch, this colour looks kind of white and frosty, but when I apply it to my cheeks, it very appears a little bit golden and a little bit peach-y – a good colour, if you’re looking for more of a “glow” than a strong blushed cheek.

 Ice Breakers Sours

Not much to say here, just something to please your sweet tooth – comes with 3 flavours:  green apple, watermelon, and tangerine.

Forever 21 Nail Polish – Lime Dream

I’ve been wanting to wear this colour for a little while, because wearing it in the winter just didn’t seem fitting.  Bonus points because it matches the Ice Breakers package.

China Glaze Nail Polish – Flirty Tankini

A fun and bright coral, great for summer (in person, it’s a little more pink).  This is a great alternative to the China Glaze colour that everyone is going gaga over, “Flip Flop Fantasy” – if you can’t get your hands on that, “Flirty Tankini” is a good alternative.

BornPretty Nail Art Studs

A fun way to add some texture and a little bit of pop to your mani, this summer.  If small nail art brushes, and teeny tiny details aren’t your forte, adding studs is a fantastic way to spruce up your nail game.

e.l.f. Studio Makeup Mist & Set

With the beaming sun just waiting to come out, the last thing you want is your makeup to completely melt off – this product will definitely help.  I used it in the winter and spring, an will continue to use it in the summer.  Although with the hot weather, it is very likely that you might sweat off some foundation, this spray does a great job on keeping my eye makeup all in one piece.  Bonus points because it is a good alternative to a similar product by MAC, for a fraction of the price.

Forever 21 Dress

Minty colour, lightweight, and adjustable straps – check!  I love busting out this baby in the summer – easy to pair with a natural makeup look, and some neutral shoes, just like the ones coming up…..

Steven by Steve Madden Gladiator Sandals

I am loving these sandals!  Comfy, teeny tiny heel, and goes well with many different types of outfits.  Sandals are tricky for me because I can’t buy them online – I need to try them on in person, since sandals and heels are usually 1.5-2 sizes smaller than my running shoe size – weird, right?  It took me more than a year, but I finally got a pair that fits me – hooray!

That’s all for today, do you have any summer faves?  Let me know in the comments below, and until next time – don’t forget to ‘treat yo’ self’ to a mani.

Those sandals are so bad ass! I love it! I hit up Forever 21 yesterday and bought sheer floral wide leg pants. So outside my comfort zone.

thanks, Julie! Now I want wide-leg floral pants. I have yet to find wide-leg pants that flatter me, because they make me look THAT much shorter, but when I find them – WATCH OUT WORLD.
