My First Zoya Polish: Review

Happy Reviews-day Tuesday, to us all!

It’s about time, isn’t it?  I am now the proud new owner of 2 beautiful Zoya nail polishes.  I had not had the opportunity to try Zoya, but had seen many fellow bloggers posting glowing reviews about their colours, so the stars must have aligned when Zoya had a buy 1 get 1 free promotion, with free shipping to the US, on Halloween.  I quickly ordered a brownish red colour called “Cheryl”, and another one that I had been admiring for a few months, which I am reviewing today, “Payton”.

“Payton” is from Zoya’s Holiday 2013 Zenith collection, and boy is she a beaut.  This one immediately caught my eye, when it was released, because of the rich maroon tone.  In addition it is a jelly with a scattered holo effect – a winning combination for sure.

What I most appreciated from this particular colour, aside from how it looked, was the formula.  As some of my readers know, my biggest nail polish pet peeve is a polish that is not opaque, and therefore requires like 5 coats to cover up my super-white nail tips.  I was a bit nervous because many jelly polishes that I have tried in the past are quite sheer, but “Payton” answered my prayers.  In only 2 coats, yes TWO, my nail tips were completely covered, no white tips peek-a-boo-ing out, and I was very pleased with the result.  Removal was a breeze, not at all difficult or time-consuming.

After 4 days of wearing, no chipping!

I’m definitely planning on trying out more Zoya polishes in the future.  Comment below and tell me some of your fave Zoya colours.

Check out their website, or your local cosmetics section, where Zoya polishes retail for about $8.00.  And be sure to follow them on twitter @ZoyaNailPolish for more sneak peeks at colors, and fun giveaways like #tunetues happening today!
