Easy As 1-2-3: Pink & Purple Split

It's been a while since I've done an "Easy As 1-2-3" - actually, it's been about 2 months!  So let's get this party started!

Paint a solid pink base (I used Revlon's "Bubble").
Paint half of the nail with a lavender (I used Pure Ice's "Jailbait").
Using the small end of a dotting tool, make three vertical purple dots on top of the pink, and 3 vertical pink dots on top of the purple.

Layout Version.

Indies & Undies ft. Hardcore Cosmetics

Reviews-Day Tuesday is upon us again!

Today's Indies & Undies is a fun one because we have a few mini polishes from Hardcore Cosmetics.  I was so excited to try them out, that I wore them all at the same time, as a skittles mani (a manicure where each nail is different).  As always, for indies & undies, the swatch sticks are just the indie polish, and the mani features indie nail polishes, worn over drugstore colours, in order to  help the indie colour really stand out.  So here's what I came up with

First up is "Mother's Little Helper" - a fuchsia-y pink jelly with iridescent purple micro-glitter.

1 coat
2 coats
"Mother's Little Helper" over Sinful Colors' "Beverly Hills".
Second is "Oh, So Quiet" - A coral/orange jelly with small flecks of clear iridescent glitter.

1 coat
2 coats
"Oh, So Quiet" over Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Coral Reef"

Next is "Southern Girl" - A clear purple base, with large white hex glitters, medium and small purple square glitters, and purple mini-hex glitters.

1 coat
2 coats
What I like about this glitter topcoat is that depending on what angle you look at it, or how much light you are looking at it under, the purple glitter shifts between purple, light grey, and white.  It's a really cool effect.
"Southern Girl"  over Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Lacey Lilac".

Finally is "Heaven" - A duo-chrome rose gold.

1 coat
2 coats
I got the most compliments on this one, because it is so shiny - sometimes the average drugstore rose golds are a little muted and dull, so it's nice to have an indie alternative that is so reflective, and the blend of colours is just beautiful.

"Heaven" over Sinful Colors' "Vacation Time".
All 4 colors in all their glory!

Hardcore Cosmetics' mini polishes retail for $4.00 each, and sometimes, they offer promotions, like 25% off for the week of Cyber Monday.

Llarowe Sale Haul

I have recently discovered the beauty that is - an online shop that carries different nail polish brands and supplies from all over the world.  I have fallen in love with this site after taking a liking to unique nail polishes, that are made by indie brands.  This site is great because sometimes, when cruising other online stores, you may fall head over heels with a colour, but find that they may only ship within Europe - but the ladies of Llarowe have you covered.  The great thing about this site is not only do you have access to some of the most gorgeous polishes you have ever seen, but they also run great promotions on holidays, and they always have discounted polishes in their sale section.  Furthermore, they have some of the best customer service around - very quick at responding to questions, always friendly, and very informative.

Here's what I got from my very first order from llarowe, which is sure to not be my last (I've already made my second order - can't wait!).

Dollish Polish in "Starlite".
A white crelly base, with blue, orange, red, green, and yellow medium hex glitters - inspired by Rainbow Brite.
Dollish Polish in "Murky Dismal"
A mint green crelly base, with small black and white square glitter - inspired by the villain Murky Dismal, from Rainbow Brite.
Gloss 'N Sparkle in "Topsy Turvy".
A green crelly base, with green, purple, and black hex glitters (large, medium, and small), and a dash of black star-shaped glitter.
Can you tell that I love crelly bases?

I got really lucky with all of these and got them when the website was running a fantastic promotion, where everything in the sale section was an additional 50% off.  If you want stay updated in regards to sales and promotions, you can like their facebook page, or follow them on twitter.  And if you are a fellow nail polish addict, and want to occupy at least an hour of your time drooling, check our their website - some of my personal favorite brands are:  Glam Polish, Emily De Molly, and of course, Colors By Llarowe (seriously you HAVE to check out their holo polishes, such as "Dirty Diana", from the Michael Jackson inspired collection *drool*).

All items in this post were purchased with personal funds.

Indies & Undies ft. Glitter Lambs

Happy Reviews-day Tuesday!

Today, as part of the Indies & Undies series, we have the glitter-topcoat-specializing indie brand, Glitter Lambs Polish.  Glitter Lambs Polish is a bit new to the scene, so let's show them some love!

From their etsy page:
"Glitter Lambs is a mom and daughter Beauty/Cosmetic website that is located within the United States and is dedicated to anything that girls like such as Nails, Custom Blended Nail Polish, Solvent Resistant Glitter, Cosmetics, Makeup Reviews, Hairstyles, DIY Bedroom Decorations and Ideas, Makeup clipart, Beauty Tips and anything else that sparks our imaginations to post."

My polish of choice, and the answer to the 'Guess The Indie' post from a few days ago, is "Circus Clown in Town", and this one has to be the very definition of the term glitter bomb - many different colours, shapes, and finishes of glitter, so of course it caught my eye, right away.

"Circus Clown In Town" by Glitter Lambs is a glitter topcoat with matte pink, and blue neon square glitter, matte pink, blue, and green neon mini hex glitters, matte red, pink, blue, and green large hex glitters, and large reflective silver circle glitter.
Close-up bottle shot.

1 coat

2 coats
I wanted to pick undie colours that would really highlight the bright neon colours of this topcoat, so here's what I came up with.

Undie:  Sally Hansen, Hard As Nails in "Black Heart" (880).
Undie:  NYC in "Lexington Yellow (294).

*Almost* no fishing necessary.  As you can see, the brush picks up a large amount of glitter, however if you want to pick up some extra pieces of large silver circle glitter, you may need another dip of the brush, or two.

Glitter Lambs Polishes retail for $5.95, for a 15 ml, full size bottle.  They ship within the United States, and are easily accessible on all of their social media, including their etsy page (linked at the top of this post), if you have any questions.
